Hello Friends.
It’s been several months since I’ve communicated with you. I’ve been distracted lately, as I am recovering from getting hit by non-small cell lung cancer this Winter. I’m on the mend and ready to celebrate life and get back to sharing my music with you, live.
During my illness, one of my regrets was that I’d not shared many of the songs I’ve written for various reasons, one being that I was hesitant to believe that there was a listening audience of Just Rachel at the piano. I’ve felt this way for years, but during this healing journey, I’ve faced those fears and insecurities within me and decided, what better way to celebrate my 61st birthday than to “do what I love, as simply Just Me”. It’s a gift I’m giving to myself, to dare to share music I’ve not much shared before.
So, that’s the plan. I’m hosting a Just Rachel house concert and am preparing to debut a lot of the songs I’ve not shared “live” before. Songs from some children’s musicals I’ve written but have not published and such. It’s time to resume doing what I can, because I can. Life’s short, let’s do this!
